Dear Hanif, Thanks for your mail. I am so happy that you enjoyed my film MBN. Due to the government’s policies, Pakistan does not allow Indian movies to be released there. But movies have no boundaries and I really appreciate your views and feeling about the awards here. HA! No I have not pissed anyone off but I guess I don’t have the marketing skills to win awards. Paheli was indeed the biggest puzzle that has turned out to be an embarrassing one.
But I assure you of good film in the future and thanks for all the support - your vote counts :) Best wishes Sanjay.

"Hi, my name is micelyn.... I watched the first half of
my brother nihkil in my history of medicine class. I absolutely loved it. Everyone
in the class was very touched. From what I've seen so far, the story is beautiful.
I especially love the song La Chele. I think it makes the movie very sad and
nice at the same time. I just wish I could understand the song, hahahaha. I only
speak english and spanish. Anyway, I cant wait till next class to see the end
of the movie. This is the first indian movie I have seen. Your a great actor
and I look forward to seeing more of your work. (with subtitles of course, hahaha)
Well, since im supposed to ask a question I would like to know what indian movies
you recommend I see? Thanks "
- missy |
Hi Missy, Thanks for your mail. I am glad you liked the first half of my movie “My brother…NIKHIL” and i hope you enjoyed the second half as well. It feels good if someone who doesn’t even speak the language enjoys the film, it’s a big compliment for me and my director. Please let me know how you enjoyed the second half and then I shall recommend some other Indian movies to you :)
Best wishes Sanjay.

"Hi Sanjay, I just recently watched the 'Filmfare' awards on television and was surprised to see that My Brother...Nikhil did not have a single mention anywhere!! While I agree that movies should not be made with the sole view of reaping in the awards, I also think that quality MUST be appreciated. Your film was by far one of the best of last year, and so was your performance! (I would also rate Purab's performance very high). It's a shame that the so-called 'film fraternity' fails to recognize that. I do not dispute the brilliance of "black', it was indeed a classic...but I felt MBN was good enough to stand among the best...anyway, here's hoping that we learn at some point in time! :(
All the best with your next... best regards Divya"
- Divya |
Dear Divya,
Thanks for your mail. I appreciate and understand your point of view about the awards. I myself fail to understand, but honestly I have never given importance to our awards, they challenge my mind!!! Our country is amazingly courageous to send a film like Paheli as our Oscar entry, so the lesser said - the better it is :). I assure you of good quality cinema in the near future.
Thanks again. Sanjay.

"Dear Sanjay, I watched Daman a few days back, and must
say here that your performance was excellent. Being amidst the audience, i felt
the whirlwind of emotions Sunil Saikia was going through. Thank you for the talent
shared, time, effort and beautiful character potrayals. Do you intend to take
up direction in time to come?"

Hi,
Thanks for your mail and watching my films. Daman is an old one but am glad you
enjoyed it. Regarding direction, no I haven’t thought of it as yet. Am
still focused on acting.

"hey sanjay..hope your well.
Sorry, this question is slightly out of place here but I just wanted to ask you
if you had any tips about getting into the music industry in India. I am a UK
based budding artist (well so i like to think..lol) and really was just looking
for some sort of help. Please do reply to this question of mine if you can. Will
be much appreciated. By the way your work is wonderful and I wish you all the
best."
- Geeta |
Hi Geeta,
Thank you for logging in.
I am not clear about your area of interest in music. If you want to know typically
about the Hindi film industry, then there are companies like HMV, Tips, Venus,
T series, Times music, Universal and Sony who are mainly into film music. I guess
you should send them your work profile along with something they can put their
ear to. Beyond this, I really don’t know how it actually works, but I am
sure once you connect with them, something will come out of it.
The other way is to approach film directors directly with your cd.
Wishing you the very best.
Sanjay.
