"Sanjay, I was afraid to watch My Brother Nikhil so I did not watch it all this time I had it for more than a year. I watched it last night.
I think the movie is great though a bit inaccurate and negative.
Nikhil did not have to die so soon as he was being taken care of by his sister and friend. HIV infected people dont die so fast.
Apart from that I would like to know why you chose this subject for your first home production knowing very well that man-->man love story would not be a safe bet?
What made you go in for the subject? Did you have a close gay friend?
I congratulate you for being so bold. The relationship has come up very beautifully in the movie.
Incidently I was born in Jammu also. my name is Ram "
- Sahir
Dear Sahir/Ram,
Thanks for your mail. I appreciate your feedback but am not sure if I would agree with you about the inaccuracy and the negative aspect of the film. The film is set during 1989-1992 and people were dying then pretty fast due to Aids depending on the stage of HIV they were in and then having full blown Aids. Also in the film there is a time lapse of 3 years, so am not sure if you got your facts correct for those years. Regarding the negative bit, it’s what you take from the film. For us it’s a film about acceptance and love, so it’s hardly negative as it teaches to love and accept without any taboos and social stigmas. When u make films like My brother…NIKHIL then one does not worry about being safe, we loved the script and thought this films needs to be made, hence made it as my first production. Hope this answers your questions.
Best regards

"HI Sanjay, M big Fan of urs....just need to know where do u get ur hair trimmed...i too wanna that look.. "
- Ajit
Dear Ajit,
I don’t have anyone in particular. I try out new hairstylist all the time for a haircut, so my advise will be to go in for the hit and trial method. Thanks
