Ask Sanjay - Archives: April 2007
"Sanjay,
How are ya?
This is harpreet from Los Angeles.
Just wanted to let you know, that you are one of my most favourite actors. Simply loved your work in Bas Ek Pal, My Brother Nikhil, Dhoop (my fav movie), Pinjar and Dil Vil Pyar Vyar. If its your movie then it has to be seen.
Yaar, just you look better clean-shaven, not goatee.
Also, if you are ever in Los Angeles again would like to have coffee you, good ol Starbucks.
Thanks,"
- Harpreet
Hey Harpreet,
Thanks for your message.
I appreciate your fondness for my work and wish to thank you for watching my movies.
Will keep the clean shaven comment in mind but sometimes to portray certain characters one likes to try out different looks.
Hmmm …I am not much of a Starbucks fan, but yes coffee at the local café anywhere sounds good 
Do connect on the site for more news and especially if I am coming to LA.
Thanks again
Sanjay

"Hi, I know you have probably heard this like a million times but i truly mean it when i say ur an awesome talented actor. I always look forward to watching your films because their so real and you always give power packed performances! My question to you is how do you feel about the kissing trend in bollywood? if you were offered a film which required you to kiss several times would you accept the film or decline it keeping in mind that the film is different and is very performance orientated. "
- Omair

Hi Omair,
Thanks for your mail and the compliment.
Am glad you like my performances and my movies. Regarding your question about kissing, I am not against kissing scenes in a movie but one must know the reason for it. Sometimes it’s needed in a scene or sometimes people just put it there to sensationalize the matter. So it’s better to evaluate and then go ahead. But many times actors just have to obey directions from the directors so really it’s very difficult to comment on the validity of a kissing scene in a movie. But one should not forget that it’s the most natural thing to do when people are in love, so it’s cool if shot well.
Thanks
Sanjay.

- anuradha Singh

Dear Anuradha ji,
Thanks for your mail.

"Hi Sanjay,
Thanks a lot for replying to my question. I couldn't believe that you actually take time out to read and answer your fan's questions. It means a lot. I recently watched "Bas Ek Pal" and loved your acting in it. Every time I go out for a jog or drive to work, I listen to the songs of this movie. I think you are an actor with a lot of integrity. Let me know if you ever plan to visit Toronto. I would love to get your autograph. "
- Nat
Hey Nat,
Thanks for your mail again.
Yes it is me who replies to you :)
Will surely let you know if any plans materialize for Toronto but do look at the site often for my travel plans if any.
Cheers
Sanjay

" Hey Sanjay...
I was not too sure if you'd reply to fan questions initially! But that apprehension was totally wiped clean when i saw that you'd replied to my friend Anu! :) That's some admirable approachability that all actors need to learn from you! :)

First things first, Been a BIG fan of yours from 'Pyaar Mein kabhie Kabhie' and Sunrise ad days till more recent My Brother Nikhil ones! :)
You're one amazing natural actor and here's wishing you all the very best for all your endeavours!

My question- Which is your all-time favourite movie?
1)in Hindi
2)out of all your works
Any plans of acting down south? I'm from Chennai! Would love to see you work in Tamil! :)
Well, maybe I should have said 'questions' in the first place! ;)
Cheers!
Sandhya :) "
- Sandhya Ramachandran

Hi Sandhya,
It’s lovely to receive your mail.
Thanks for the compliment but I do believe that this is the bare minimum an actor can do for one’s audience since mostly we strive for popularity and then hide behind dark glasses.
Anyway to answer your set of questions, it’s extremely difficult to single out one favourite hindi film since I love so many but I can tell you my favourite out of mine, its My brother NIHIL.
I would love to work in Tamil movies but I think outside actresses are accepted easily than heroes …right?
Am thrilled that you still remember my Sunrise ad.  Not many do.
Take care
Sanjay Suri

"Hey Sanjay! I am a huge fan of yours since your modelling days..I must say you are extremely good looking and an amazing actor. Liked your work in My Brother Nikhil and Bas Ek Pal.. Keep up the good work! Dont you think you need to do more films under bigger banners for better visibility and recognition? This probably means lobbying for good roles I guess ! "
- vandana desai (California, USA)

Dear Vandana,
Thanks for your mail.
Am glad you like my performances and have followed my career.
I think you just said it out yourself, lobbying!!! And that’s something I just can’t do. So, my philosophy is that I am just a phone call away or a click away and if anyone wants to work with me they are most welcome. As an actor one can only express a desire to work with certain people, one can’t force them.
So as of now I am happy doing my kind of cinema.
Just re-launched my new site, do have a look at it :)
Thanks
Sanjay Suri.

" Hi Sanjay!
What is with the cigarette shot in your portfolio?? Is that necessary?
Anyway, just caught a glimpse of tu ashiqi hain from Jhankar Beats on TV. That was a brilliant movie, which I\'ve seen far too many times, but I still love it :)
Udita
ps: why are there so many shots from Sydney, and do you have some tie up with miss
India Aust? "
- Udita

Hi Udita,
Thanks for your mail.
I appreciate your feedback and your queries.
It’s a site serving multiple purposes eg. For fans/my audience, for media, for the Industry, for other Talent Scouts, etc. etc.
So the cigarette shot is a part of the folio to give talent scouts another feel of me. Nothing more deep in it :)
Regarding the Sydney pics, I love the city and my brother is the owner of the MIA property.
Thanks and I hope you’ve seen the newly launched website of mine.
